Conservation and environmental NGOs: description and assessment
At this early stage we have included a few international NGOs as well as some large American and
Canadian ones. The list is far from comprehensive. (To suggestion additional NGOs, please go to our
Input page.) So far there is little evaluation; this will develop
gradually. Initial synopses are now being prepared and will be continuously improved and updated.
(Small NGOs are also worthy of support, but we're not including them at this stage.)
Information included is (or will be) based on:
- reading the organization's website, recent annual report(s) and other publications
- for American organizations, their IRS Form 990 (Thanks to
guidestar.org for making these available online.)
- for Canadian organizations, their CRA Annual Information Return (Form T3010)
- asking questions of the organization's staff
- input from visitors to this website
- searching the Internet for relevant criticism and discussion
